2017 DESIGN WEEK PORTLAND RECAP
24 MAY 2017
SR. DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY & PLANNING
It started innocently enough. With a simple question we get often: My brand needs a manifesto, but how do I write one? While we've formed some basic rules to help guide their creation in our workshops, we thought it might be fun to take a different approach in advance of our 2017 Design Week Portland Open House. So we created the MadLib version, and gave our guests the opportunity to write their own personal manifesto. Feel free to steal this image and write your own!
Did you know a group of apes is called a shrewdness? Or that the scariest place on earth may be any place you find yourself with a quiver of cobras? #learningisfundamental. As is always the case with MadLibs, responses ranged from the humorous and poetic to the slightly deranged. But in any case, we enjoyed the exercise as a fun and unique way to engage our guests and explore the corners of the human mind in the process.
In addition to the MadLibs, the snacks (and Cold Snacks) were a hit. We were also thrilled to serve hand crafted cocktails made with vodka and gin from our friends (and client) Death's Door Spirits. The ping pong balls and corn hole bags flew around downstairs as well. We're already looking forward to next year, and hope you'll join us!
