ICE COLD INTERN
Oh, the sweetness of summer. Remember when the most stressful part of those long, hot days of childhood consisted of locating the coveted ice cream truck from the sounds of its music echoing through the neighborhood streets? Finally receiving that cold, delicious treat is one of the purest forms of satisfaction. For the nostalgic, daydreamers of Manifesto, nothing embodies the essence of summer more than that enticing chase.
So when the University of Wisconsin-Madison wanted our help to kick-off a campaign in the summer of 2017, thanking 72 counties worth of Wisconsinites for 169 years of enormous support in a meaningful, unique and effective way, we couldn’t visualize a more gratifying idea than to create our very own ice cream truck to travel across the state.
On August 1st, 2017, with the help of Manifesto visionaries and treat-enthusiasts, UW-Madison began their two-month journey scooping and serving free Babcock ice cream to WI citizens at local county events in a renovated, 1957 vehicle. With a tour schedule consisting of farmer’s markets, outdoor concerts, and student send-offs all across the state, the University aimed to extend its gratitude to every corner of Wisconsin. Because what’s more essential on a hot summer’s day than a cold scoop of ice cream from a restored, vintage ice cream truck?
